Work in Progress
A writer is never idle. If we're not writing, we're researching and if we're not researching, well, we're probably eating a big slab of cake telling everyone we're "thinking" about our next book.
So, here's the latest on my next works:
My next release will not be a Bumpkinton story. Instead, I'm looking to release a story aimed at children and young adults.
Writing is underway, though not too far yet, on the first instalment of a new series of stories following a character by the name of Jean Hargreaves, her friends Rani and Gary and their nemesis, Lewis Perkins.
I'm aiming for a late 2020 release.
It will be a short book and will be followed by a novel, fingers crossed, in 2022.
Having been asked many times when my next Bumpkinton story is out, my answer is:
I don't know.
At time of writing, I'm yet to write anything new when it comes to Bumpkinton. That's not to say I won't be going back to the village, but I feel with six stories already out there to be enjoyed, it's time to let the dust settle on the quirky little village.
I'm yet to decide if the next book will be a series of short stories, like The Bumpkinton Tales: Volume One or a short novel.
I have no plans yet to write another novel the length of Gregory Shortbread, I'm sure I will, but the next Bumpkinton release won't be as long as that story.
